Meet Our Teachers

Stephen

Studio Manager

In my youth I used to regularly play squash and also enjoyed doing 5 mile runs a couple of times a week. However as time passed and due to several injuries due to running etc I had to stop those sports activities. After years of doing any form of exercise I eventually after twelve years I discovered Hot Yoga. I was talked into attending a hot yoga class, mainly because I didn’t think that it was right for me, being a man and the idea of doing “yoga” was just not for me. After my class I found out how wrong I was, on both counts, the studio had a lot of men in the class and my initial idea of yoga was completely wrong. But more importantly, over a period of time my injuries began to be less severe than they used to be, the pain lessened and my joint flexibility improved, the yoga seemed to be working helping my body to self heal. I also found that my stress levels reduced as well as my mental clarity and I have never looked back since. Opening the studio with my Husband Kamal has been the next phase and I look forward to seeing you in the studio, as the Studio Manager I will be here to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

Kamal

Teacher - Hot Yoga 26&2, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra

I was so excited to open Hot Yoga Manchester with my husband and studio manager in the city we love and call home. My Hot Yoga journey started by chance, never being one to keep fit; and gyms were definitely not for me, I always made excuses for not going and then, while on holiday, an attack of sciatica changed all that. Having never suffered from this condition before I knew I had to do something quickly, then on my return home I remembered the Hot Yoga studio I walked past every day to and from work. Eventually, I decided to sign up on their 30 day trial offer. I was hooked; that was over twelve years ago and I have not looked back since. It is addictive and the one place I can really switch off from the outside world for 90 minutes and recharge my mind and body, leaving me energized and refreshed. The more I went, the more I fell in love with what it was doing for me, mentally, physically and emotionally. Finally after years of practice I decided to attend the teacher training course so that I could bring this wonderful practice to others. Which I can now do in my own Studio here in Manchester City at Hot Yoga Manchester. When we decided to open a studio it was very much apparent to us by all the comments and excitement that Manchester needed a Hot Yoga Studio specialising in the Original Hot Yoga 26&2, especially after the last studio closed, leaving a lot of students disappointed & nowhere to practice. After a lot of searching and a few disappointments, we eventually found the ideal space and we were overjoyed to open our modern & state of the art Hot Yoga Manchester Studio at the Progress Center in Manchester. I am still on my Yoga journey and still learning every day, why not join me in the Studio and see how it can change your life !! “ You are never too old, never too young to start again “ - Bikram

Aliza

Bikram Teacher, Human Design Reader & Coach, Moonologer, Meditation Teacher, Yoga Retreats

I first heard of Bikram yoga about 15 years ago when my mum started practicing. After years of her telling me I would love it and it would be great for me (driving me mad every 3 days) I finally gave in a did a class. It sounds totally cliched to say it but it's the truth.....that day changed my life in so many ways. After 4 or 5 classes I decided to do a 100 day challenge. I'm a little bit of an all or nothing person. To say the least. After completing the challenge I felt so proud of myself and couldn't believe what I had achieved. Soon after the opportunity to teach came about but I was reluctant, how could the person who hated speaking in public teach a class full of students? I'm a big believer in everything happening for a reason and everything fell into place perfectly and next thing I know I was in LA learning to teach yoga. Bikram yoga has changed everything for me, it's given me a new career, friends all over the world, a sense of inner calm I have never felt before and confidence. I'm so passionate about Bikram yoga and how it can help so many people because I know it works, it literally turned my life around. To see people transform in only a few classes is a magical thing to witness and to be part of that process is something I adore and can't believe I'm lucky enough to call work.

Christina

Bikram Teacher

Yoga has supported my journey towards harmony and wellbeing to those who I hold dear, including students for us all to find fulfillment. Being a student first and loving being on the mat for 3 years, I then embarked on becoming a qualified Bikram Yoga teacher in the USA in 2014. Sometimes I can't believe a decade has passed by and I still feel like I'm learning something about the practice class by class. Wearing many hats, including mummy of 5, wife, confident, student and teacher I teach my class from a multidisciplinary perspective, understanding each student brings a different mindset and ability which has to be respected, this allows me to offer a calm, knowledgeable and genuine session which I aim to provide a challenging yet caring class. I believe yoga is a way of life and I look forward to sharing that with you.
