Embarking on a yoga journey can be both exciting and a bit daunting, especially if you're new to the practice. At Hot Yoga MCR, we believe yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or experience. Bikram Yoga, practiced in a heated room, is an excellent way to enhance flexibility, strength, and overall well-being. Here are three beginner-friendly Bikram Yoga poses to help you start your journey and entice you to experience the full series at our studio.

1. Standing Deep Breathing (Pranayama)

Benefits: Increases lung capacity and prepares the body for the practice. How to: Stand with feet together, interlace your fingers under your chin, and inhale deeply through your nose. As you exhale, lift your elbows up and push your head back.

2. Half Moon Pose (Ardha-Chandrasana)

Benefits: Stretches and strengthens the spine, improves flexibility. How to: Stand tall with feet together. Inhale, raise your arms overhead, and clasp your hands. Bend to the right, feeling the stretch along your left side, then repeat on the left side.

3. Triangle Pose (Trikonasana)

Benefits: Strengthens legs, hips, and core; improves flexibility. How to: Stand with legs wide apart, turn the right foot out, bend the right knee, and extend arms. Touch your right fingers to the floor and stretch the left arm up, feeling the stretch in your hips and spine.
